Broncos, Lady Broncos win big at local meet

 RUSSELL - The Russell Invitational track meet was held on Thursday, April 5 at Shaffer Field.
Teams that were involved in this meet were: Russell, Ellsworth, TMP-Marion, Sacred Heart and Hoisington.
The Lady Broncos took first place with an overall team score of 140 total points, while their counterparts came in second with a team total 102 points.
Hoisington won the boys' team totals with 118, Russell had a total of 102 total points.

  Individual and Team Scores

  Boys Javelin - Brice Summers took second place with a throw of 151'0".
Tyler Wagner took third place with a throw of 143'2".

  Long Jump - Ben Cole had a jump of 20' 4 1/2" to take second place.
Casey Driscoll had a jump of 19' 9 1/2" to come in at fourth place.

  Shot Put - Tyler Wagner took first place with a throw of 47' 0".

  Pole Vault - Tyler Elliott took first place with a height of 12'6".

  High Jump - Tyler Sander came in first with a jump of 6'9".
Ben Cole took second place with a jump of 6'4".,br> Cedric Holloway took fifth place with a jump of 5'6".

  Discus -Trevor Favinger won first with a distance of 124'11".
Tyler Wagner took third with a distance of 120'1".

  Triple Jump -Deric Funk came in at third place with a jump of 35'11".

  100 Meter Dash - Tyler Sander took first place with 11.65, just edging out his closest competitors.
Tyler Elliott came in second tied with Dolzal of Ellsworth at 11.82.
Casey Driscoll took fifth place with 11.98.

  4 x 100m Relay -Russell won first place in the event with a total combined time of 44.85. Members of the 4x100 meter relay team are: Tyler Elliott, Tyler Sander; Casey Driscoll and Brett Mai.

  400 Meter Dash -Brice Summers came in fourth with a time of 56.98.

  300 Meter Intermediates -Deric Funk came in fourth with a time of 45.66.

  200 Meter Dash -Brett Mai took third place with a time of 24.82.

  4 x 400m Relay -Russell took third plac in this event with an overall time of 3:51.92. Those running for the Broncos were: Tyler Elliott, Ben Cole, Clayton Becker and Brice Summers.

   Varsity Girls

  Javelin -Deana Strobel took second place with a throw of 87'8".

  Long Jump -Kayla Mitchell took first with a distance of 14'8 1/2".
Johnilen Overmiller took second with a distance of 14'3".

  Shot Put -Jacquelyn Brown won first place with a throw of 35'8".

  High Jump -Johniln Overmiller took second place with a height of 4'6".
Rachael Harper took third place with a height of 4'6".

  Discus -Jacquelyn Brown captured first place with a throw of 103'7".
Ashley Kuntzsch came in fourth place with a throw of 75'.>

  Triple Jump -Johnilen Overmiller won first place with a distance of 30'10".
Brooke Stoppel took third place with a distance of 28' 2 1/2".

  100 Meter High Hurdles -Jill Mahoney took first plac with a time of 16.73.
Jennalee Mahoney took third place with a time of 17.5.

  100 Meter Dash -Jana Spradlin won first place with a time of 13.18.
Kayla Mitchell took second place with a time of 13.21.

  4 x 100m Relay -The Russell Girls came in first with a time of 51.46. Members of the relay team are: Jana Spradlin, Kayla Mitchell, Tara Revell and Jennalee Mahoney.

  400 Meter Dash -Tara Revell took first place with a time of 1:04.28.
Audra Cook capture third place with a time of 1:11.68.

  300 Meter Low Hurdles -Jenna Mahoney place first with a time of 52.10.

  200 Meter Dash -Russell captured all three top spots in this event. Finishers were as follows: Tara Revell, first place with a time of 27.34; Kayla Mitchell, second place with a time of 28.24; and Shanda Kilian, third, with a time of 28.65.

  4 x 400 Meter Relay -Russell captured the first place honors for the event. Those participating wre: Jena Mahoney, Jana Spradlin, Shanda Kilian and Tara Revell.

Next action will be Tuesday at Ellsworth beginning at 4 p.m.
